Today our children and teens encounter in-person situations as well as social media interactions that undermine their self-worth and dignity. They experience social exclusion, bullying and exploitation. It is important that we work together to help our young people overcome these challenges, to help them spread a message of love, and to help them understand their own worth as child of God.
Every day we read and hear about issues, which threaten the dignity of human life: human trafficking, fair wages, euthanasia, stem cell research, abortion, immigration and so many more. These are big issues, but we can all do small things to start to affect changes in our society such as sharing messages of love, praying for each other, and giving time to organizations that work to ensure the dignity of human life. Actions do speak louder than words, so we should begin by treating each person we encounter with love and respect. Start with those closets around you, do small things with great love.
